Apple officially discontinued old-generation iPhone models like the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 13 by announcing the new iPhone 16 series on September 9, 2024.
Well, this is not shocking news for iPhone users because they know Apple discontinues its pro models every year to push those who desire to use the power of newly launched pro-Apple devices.
Now, the discontinued items are unavailable through the Apple Store; however, they can purchase them via third-party vendors until they are in stock. The iPhone 16 series will be available for pre-order on Friday, September 13, 2024.
Apple has also reduced the price of the iPhone 15 and 14 models by $100. The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are $100 less than the iPhone 16, which starts from $699. Similarly, the prices of the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are reduced to $100, which is the price of the iPhone 13. You can check out the reduced prices of all models and the iPhone 16 series here.
According to Techradar, ‘‘iPhone 15 pro and pro max models have the capabilities of new AI features like proofreading emojis that are now inaccessible” However, the AI technology is now only available in the iPhone 16 lineup. The price of this new iPhone 16 series has not changed, and it is the same as the one-year-old model of the iPhone.

It’s good, but not completely. The iPhone 16 and 16 pro have not changed, but Apple should not discontinue the iPhone 15. This is because those who don’t want to buy the iPhone 16 should have the option to buy the iPhone 15.
All the upcoming Apple devices will have the same features as the old ones but with minor upgrades. For example, the iPhone 15 models have almost all the AI capabilities the iPhone 16 has, but they can’t access the new features in the latest iPhone 16 model. One of these new features is Visual Intelligence, which can be handled through the new camera control side button but is not accessible in the old iPhone models.
